Hello from Israel!! Dylan and I flew here last week and have been having an amazing time. We’re here for his work, but we’ve had days off and time in-between events to go explore! I’ve visited once before, when I was about 8 or 9, but everything is different from what I remember as a kid. I didn’t have the appreciation I do now that I’m older for different cultures, traditions they have, and the beauty of different cities with their architecture and history.
When we first arrived, we were staying in Tel Aviv, so one day we headed to the Carmel Markets to do a little exploring after breakfast. We mostly just spent our free time walking around, heading to restaurants for a bite to eat, and always making sure to catch the sunsets over the Mediterranean! This cute backless romper and studded sandals from Urban Outfitters was the perfect outfit for a day out exploring!
If you head to Tel Aviv, these are a few of my favorite spots that we went to…
Shabazi Street: one of my favorite streets with cute boutique shops, great restaurants, and just overall beautiful scenery with the stone buildings and streets.
Anita: amazing gelato on Shabazi Street! Make sure to try the “cookie man” gelato.
Suzanna: delicious mediterranean restaurant also on Shabazi street. Everyone at our table had something different, and everyone loved their food so give anything a try!
LuLu Kitchen & Bar: another great restaurant on Shabazi Street.
Carmel Market: on our way to the market, we passed through a few streets with local artists selling their handmade pieces, from jewelry to pottery and more. We headed to the market after, just to say we did it, which was full of fresh foods, candy bars, flowers, and a lot of souvenir type trinkets. It’s fun to stroll through for a few minutes or so!
We weren’t in Tel Aviv for too long, but those are my top recommendations! We loved wandering the streets, stopping at cafes to have a drink, talk and people watch. We also went to Old Jaffa which is nearby, which I’ll save for my next post!
