“It was June, and the world smelled of roses. The sunshine was like powdered gold over the grassy hillside.” ―Maud Hart Lovelace
It’s been a little while since I’ve posted on the blog, or on any social media for that matter! I hope you beauties are having an amazing start to the summer (well, almost summer!). I guess just as the seasons change, so do the seasons of life, and this season Dylan and I are currently in has been a bit all over the map (literally and figuratively), which can make for some inconsistency. As much I don’t do well with inconsistency, I’ve learned to give myself some grace in the madness that life can sometimes throw. Some weeks will require more attention in one area than another, and I’m learning to allow that and be flexible with plans changing last minute and just going with the flow. If someone would’ve told me this time last year that I would be living out of a suitcase for 6+ months and not have any home of our own, I would’ve laughed, then probably cried, then laughed again because there’s no way I’d be okay with that! However, that’s the current situation, and funnily enough, I’ve (for the most part) been pretty good with it, minus a few “moments” here and there ha! I wish I could share more at the moment with why we’ve been in and out of NYC, but in a few weeks I’ll be able to share! And all of this craziness will have been worth it, so stay tuned 😉
In the meantime, I’ve been waking up to birds chirping, drinking tea on the porch surrounded by the scent of freshly bloomed roses, and taking the days as they come. I’m excited about everything that the future holds, all while learning to enjoy the “here and now” moments, even if they aren’t what I was expecting, and working our tails off to make this next exciting season happen! I want to be able to look back and know that I enjoyed every moment of the journey, and I learned to be open to the unexpected because that’s where the magic is.
In other news, this striped summer dress is so light and breezy, perfect for hot summer days in the sun. Whether heading to the beach, the pool, an event, or just your everyday outfit, it’s so versatile. You can dress it up or down with espadrille wedges, and wrap a pretty bandana around the waist to bring it in and add some more detail. I’m going to be LIVING in this!
Hoping you’re all taking some time to slow down and take in these sweet summer days, making memories with everyone you love.
